The San Jose Downtown Association is handing over the summer concert series to a new producer for its 31st season
There’s change on the horizon for Music in the Park, as the San Jose Downtown Association is turning over the reins of the downtown San Jose outdoor concert series to a new producing team for its 31st season.
That team will be led by Mauricio Mejia, a former nightclub owner and longtime entertainment industry veteran based in downtown San Jose. He says his main goal is to create a more welcoming atmosphere at Plaza de Cesar Chavez this summer, hoping to lure back downtowners coming off of two years of COVID-19.
“I want to bring back the culture of downtown being for everyone, for being inclusive,” he said. “What’s important for me this year is to transition, understand what I’m working with and enhance the experience.”
